Pre-departure Information and Advice
We have a large dedicated staff – with some staff members specifically dedicated to helping you prepare before your program starts. With a long history of coordinating study abroad programs in Argentina, we are well prepared to answer any questions you might have. Feel free to ask us about program options, what to bring, cost of living, weather, whatever you think of.
Tuition and Fees
Tuition for you language program, academic semester, TESOL certification and summer programs are included in the program price. Fees paid to companies providing internships are also included.
Housing
Whether you choose a student residence, a home stay or a single or shared apartment , all programs include monthly rent (and utilities). Linens and a fully equipped kitchen (or meal plan) are also included. We typically can accommodate special roommate and meal plan requests as well.
Class Material
Books and photocopies are included in the program price for the Spanish language programs and summer programs. However books and course materials are not included in the study abroad (academic semester) programs, and will depend upon which classes you decide to take (books for university courses are inexpensive compared to countries in North America and Europe).
Course Certificate
Upon completion of your program, you will be provided with a certificate of completion specifying the courses you ave successfully completed and the number of hours you have logged. The certificate will be signed by faculty of the school which you have attended as well as / or by the staff of our offices.
Cultural Immersion Activities
We strive to do things more “off the beaten path” on all our programs. Our activities and nightlife around Buenos Aires often involve concerts, shows and nightclubs that are a little harder to find. Sure some of the most touristed sites are highly worthwhile to see – but we’ll also make sure to leave those crowds of tourists behind when we arrange more unusual and offbeat activities.
Free Cellular Phone
Easily keep in touch with family and friends back home, as well as your conversation partner and others you meet while in Argentina. GIC Argentina provides each program participant in Buenos Aires with a prepaid type cell phone during their stay. For more information on our free cell phone service, click here.
Conversation Exchange Partners
There’s no better way to improve your Spanish and meet Argentinians than GIC Argentina Conversation Exchange Partner program. After arrival, you will be paired with an Argentinian who is learning English. This activity will help you get to know people and improve your conversational Spanish.
Onsite Orientation
Shortly after your arrival, we will arrange an orientation for you and all the new arrivals for the month. You will receive an information package, and we’ll discuss a myriad of how-to issues, like use of the cell phones, using the subway and buses, first day of classes (or volunteering, interning etc.), safety, calendar of events for the month, etc.
Health Club Free Passes *
For those interested in going to the gym while in Buenos Aires, you will receive a free membership to one of the nicest health clubs in Buenos Aires. The gym membership only included for program participants staying in the student residence in Buenos Aires for a minimum of 4 weeks.
Free Access to University or School Facilities
The university facilities available to you will depend upon which university you are attending. Typically you will have access to the university libraries, computer labs, cafeteria, student union building and can join student groups and clubs. This access makes it easier to have the ability to meet Argentinians and feel more a part of the university during your stay.

Besides managing your program before and during your stay, we are available to help you with a myriad of issues, from opening a bank account to helping you plan and make reservations for your own trips. We want to make your time in Argentina smooth so that you spend your time learning and having fun, not dealing with problems or paperwork.
