1. Do I need to pay to teach English in Argentina?
Our Teach English Argentina programs are not free, like some of our other volunteer programs. Thee price of your Teaching English in Argentina program includes your accommodation, airport pick up, cell phone, program coordinators answering your questions prior to your arrival, an on site coordinators to help you with any problems, orientations, parties, cultural activities, etc. There is no additional fee for most of our volunteering, with some exceptions such as the English teaching and medical volunteering program.
2. What is the minimum age to participate in this program for teaching English in Argentina?
You have to be at least 18 years of age to participate.
3. What level of language skill do I have to have to teach English in Argentina?
There is a language requisite to participate in the GIC Argentina English teaching programs. An intermediate or advanced level of Spanish is required.
4. What is the length of the Teaching English Argentina program?
2 months: In addition to the 1 month of Spanish required, the English teaching committment is also at least 1 month.
5. How much time is spent each week in the classroom teaching English in Buenos Aires?
Inquire for details - the time committment can be anywhere from 6 to 25 hours a week, depending upon the placement.
6. How can I enroll to teach English in Argentina?

7. Can I combine the GIC Argentina "Teach English Argentina" program with another GIC program?
It may be difficult - sometimes it is possible to combine this English teaching program with other programs, but you should arrange this in advance to make sure that there are no scheduling conflicts and that there is space available. Please inquire for more details.
8. Do I receive a certificate at the end of the Teach English Argentina program?
Yes, upon request GIC Argentina will give you a certificate of participation in our Teaching English Argentina Program.
9. Do you arrange excursions on the weekend?
Yes!! We can arrange optional trips to many parts of Argentina - however any costs are not included in the program price. Your program does include cultural activities such as walking tours around Buenos Aires, theaters, museums, etc.
10. Will I meet anyone if I go alone to teach English in Argentina?
Yes! Most of our participants travel independently and are looking to meet other people with an interest in learning a language and discovering another culture. Not only will you meet other program participants, but you will meet locals as well, at your school where you will be teaching, in your dorm or home stay, and in your travels.
11. Do I need a passport or visa or work permit for this English teaching internship?
You must have a valid passport to participate in our internship programs, and in some cases you need a visa depending on your country of citizenship. The volunteer and internship opportunities we offer, including this Teach English Argentina program, are considered cultural exchange programs, therefore work permits are not required. Please note that you will not be allowed to seek paid, non-program related employment while on a visitor's visa.
12. Is medical insurance included in the Teaching English Argentina program price?
No, medical insurance is not included and it is REQUIRED to participate in this English teaching volunteer program. We strongly encourage students to get travel and health insurance. GIC Argentina will not be responsible for any cost incurred by the participant relating to medical illness, accidents or any reason that will result in the participant's early return.
