The Barolo Palace Spanish School in Buenos Aires
Barolo Palace Spanish School is hosted in one of the oldest and most beautiful buildins of Buenos Aires, The Barolo Palace (Palacio Barolo). The Spanish school in Buenos Aires is located downtown on Avenida de Mayo near the Congress Building.
Palacio Barolo was completed in 1923 and it was the tallest building, not only in the city, but also in the whole of South America. The Palacio Barolo was designed by architect Mario Palanti in accordance with the cosmology of Dante’s Divine Comedy. Academic Credit: Spanish Classes in Buenos Aires
Learn Spanish in Buenos Aires and receive academic credit. Most people studying Spanish in Argentina earn 3 – 4 semester units for each 4-week Spanish course completed. At the end of the program you will receive a certificate stating the name of the course, level, number of hours and your final grade. If you are in a college or university and would like to receive academic credit at your home institution, talk to your study abroad advisor and arrange this ahead of time in order to make sure you’ll receive credit for your time learning Spanish in Buenos Aires.

We normally ask that students be 18 years of age or over. Students under this age must have a written authorization from their legal guardians. We also offer a High School exchange program for participants under age 18 interested in taking Spanish courses in Buenos Aires and Patagonia.

Yes! Since your Spanish course in Buenos Aires are in the afternoon you will have free time in the morning and evening for other activities. You can combine Spanish classes with both tango and salsa if you want, but you should arrange this in advance to make sure that there are no scheduling conflicts and that there is space available. Yes, you can combine any programs that you like. Keep in mind that the shortest Spanish course in Buenos Aires is one month. If you wish to combine two programs, please, let us know ahead of time.
12. Do I receive a certificate at the end of the Spanish course?
Yes, the university will issue a transcript that you can use to obtain academic credit from your college or university. The transcript will contain the Spanish course you took, the total number of hours, and your Spanish course grade. The transcript will be signed by a university authority.
13. How much course credit can I earn with this Spanish course in Buenos Aires?
The amount of credit you can earn in the Spanish course in Buenos Aires depends on the policies of your home institution. You have to pass all the courses you take (you will be required to obtain a ‘C’ or better in each course in order to receive the credit).

16. Will I meet anyone if I go alone?
Yes! Most students taking the Spanish course in Buenos Aires travel independently and are looking to meet other people with an interest in learning a language and discovering another culture. Not only will you meet other program participants, but you will meet locals as well at the Spanish school, in your home stay, and in your travels.
17. Is airfare included in the price of the Spanish course in Buenos Aires?
Your flights to and from Argentina are not included in the program price. When you have made your flight arrangements, let us know so we may arrange your airport pickup.
18. Is medical insurance included in the price of the Spanish course in Buenos Aires?
No, it is not included. We strongly encourage students to get travel and health insurance. GIC Argentina will not be responsible for any costs incurred by the student relating to medical illness, accidents or other reason that may result in the student’s early return.

Most financial aid can be transferred to your study abroad program. Talk to your financial aid advisor to determine how much financial aid you can expect for your study abroad program.
