One of the main reasons GIC Argentina is popular is that we specialize in programs at universities. We've found that our students really appreciate being part of the university experience. Our students learn at top universities and have the ability to make friends with Argentinean students, as well as have access to all the facilities that a university has to offer. If you have finished your university education already - don't worry - though half of our program participants are under 25, the other half are in the 25-35 age range.
Second, the experience that GIC Argentina provides to our participants goes beyond classroom learning. Our main goal is to connect our students with locals. We hope to pull students away from other foreign students for at least part of their time here and get them connected with Argentinean friends early in the program.
One of the best feelings I get is when I hear from one of our students a long time after their program and they are still in touch with Argentinean friends. It's very common for our program participants to come back to visit friends they made while in Argentina . To me, these international friendships are the ultimate cultural experience!
Graciela CerquattiDirector and founder of GIC Argentina
Many people ask me how GIC Argentina was started. GIC Argentina (Grupo de Intercambio Cultural) began about 10 years ago when my 17 year old son went for a year to Japan as a student. It was truly a life changing experience for him, and was an eye opener for me as a mother to see how studying abroad could enrich someone's life so much.
I LOVE Argentina and love sharing my country with people of all ages. I particularly love seeing how living abroad can open peoples eyes and hearts, and make them more well rounded, more open and more enthusiastic for the possibilities in the world. Today, my son that went to Japan, his brother, and many other employees that I also consider my family, make up the heart and soul of GIC Argentina.
I hope you'll come to Argentina and become part of our family too.
